The Juno Beach Centre Awarded ‘Destination d’Excellence’: A Recognition of Quality Hospitality and Sustainable Commitment
The Juno Beach Centre is proud to have been awarded the national “Destination d’Excellence” designation just before the summer — a distinction that recognizes tourist sites offering a remarkable, sustainable, and high-quality visitor experience.
Since 2005, the Juno Beach Centre has already been recognized for the quality of its welcome and services through the Normandie Qualité Tourisme label. This label, a mark of trust and professionalism, will soon be replaced by the new national “Destination d’Excellence” designation.
Thanks to an excellent score during our most recent evaluation, especially regarding eco-responsibility criteria, the Juno Beach Centre now benefits from a smooth transition to this new certification. It is a testament to the hard work of our entire team, who strive every day to combine remembrance, quality hospitality, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Congratulations to all the other sites that have also made this transition. Together, we contribute to the appeal and attractiveness of Normandy. And a big thank you to the CCI of Normandy, which manages and supports this network.
What is the “Destination d’Excellence” designation?
“Destination d’Excellence” is the new national brand created by the French government to gradually replace the Qualité Tourisme label and its regional versions, such as Normandie Qualité Tourisme.
Its goal is to strengthen quality across the entire tourism offering: accommodations, restaurants, places to visit or for leisure, tourist information centres, and transport.
In addition to the focus on quality hospitality and services, which has always driven the sector, this label raises the bar for eco-responsibility.
In Normandy, nearly 500 tourism professionals are committed to this approach, supported by the Normandy Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Normandy Region.
