Juno Park Guided Tour

Located just in front of the Juno Beach Centre, Juno Park contains the remnants of a German defensive strongpoint built in the early 1940s as part of the Atlantic Wall.

The Centre’s Canadian Guides take visitors on 45 minute tours through this historic site. During the tour, visitors can see firsthand the evolution of the Atlantic Wall defenses throughout the early 1940s. From the early Command Post, built in 1941, to the Observation bunker built just months before the landings in 1944, there is a lot of history to see and explore. The visit then concludes on the beach itself, in order to show how it was that these defences were overcome by the 14,000 Canadian soldiers who landed on Juno Beach on June 6, 1944.

The German Command Post and the Observation bunker are only accessible as part of the guided tour offered by the Juno Beach Centre. The Park itself is open access to anyone that wishes to visit and pay their respects on this historic site. A series of informative panels explain not only the historical significance of the area, but also the modern-day geography and wildlife.
