Weston Golf and Country Club

Dear Weston Golf and Country Club members,

Thank you for the superb support that you have provided the Juno Beach Centre over the years. Over the past decade, Juno Beach Centre Board members Hon. Lt-Col. Mark Clearihue and B-Gen (Ret’d.) Ernie Beno have attended your Remembrance Day golf tournaments, and they personally thank you for your generosity. Mark and Ernie encourage you to donate on behalf of 96-year-old D-Day veteran Jim Parks, who is walking 1.5kms in memory of his comrades forever resting in Normandy.

Last year was a banner year for the museum, with over 100,000 visitors celebrating and commemorating the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. Usually, the year after a major anniversary leads to strong results: we had budgeted for 90,000 visitors in 2020. As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has had severe impacts on the tourism industry, with major consequences to the museum’s revenues. We will be lucky to receive one-third of our original visitor projection.

If it is within your ability, we ask that you consider making a donation to the Juno Beach Centre. Your support will enable us to grow our online programming and assist our efforts to weather the pandemic and emerge ready to welcome visitors back to Juno Beach.

Below we have identified a few ways that you can support the museum during these uncertain times:

Thank you for your continued support.
