We’re pleased to announce the winners of the IMAGES DOCS drawing contest organized in partnership with the Juno Beach Centre… the Halbout family from Montpellier has won a daytrip to Juno Beach!
The contest, as featured in the June 2014 edition of Images Doc, challenged children to create a drawing inspired by “The Poppy: Flower of Remembrance”. The prize for the winning contestant is to have their artwork printed on a postcard and enjoy a complementary visit of the Juno Beach Centre with their family, including the museum visit, the temporary exhibit Grandma, What Was it like During the War?, a guided tour of Juno Park and lunch at a local restaurant.
The children whose drawings received the 2nd to 10th prizes won a family pass for the Juno Beach Centre and the 11th to 20th place winners received a special issue and a novel from Images Doc.
The Juno Beach Centre received more than 200 drawings and the jury (comprised of the Franco-Canadian museum staff) had a difficult job in selecting the winners amongst the talent and creativity proven by all the children with their artwork. The children, aged 8 to 12 years, (all Images Doc readers) sent their drawings to Juno from all over the world: Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Switzerland and even Canada!
