Sons of Scotland on Juno Beach

| April 9, 2017

The Juno Beach Centre was honoured to host the Sons of Scotland from Ottawa, Ontario for a concert on Garth Webb Esplanade yesterday. Currently under the direction of Pipe Major Bethany Bisaillion, it is the oldest civilian pipe band in Canada. The Sons welcome members of all ages and are committed to developing their talent, supporting community initiatives, and having fun. Dave MacDonald (fiddle) and Drum Major Brian Wilson joined the band for this special trip to France.

The band and dancers performed for a big crowd of Canadian tourists and locals from the surrounding villages, before marching to the the beach to pay tribute to Canada’s fallen.

Thank you for visiting the JBC! We hope to welcome you back to Juno again soon.
