You probably know this famous photo of Canadian Corporal William Curtis, treating the foot of a little boy in Colomby-sur-Thaon in June 1944.
In advance of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the daughter of Corporal Curtis, Robin Leah Curtis-Tamagi came to spend a week Courseulles with her son Devon, to better understand the history of his grandfather who died in 1997.
It was also an opportunity to meet John Frémont and his sister, the family of two boys from picture who have since passed away.
The Juno Beach Centre was thrilled to host the Curtis-Tamagi family. This story is just another example of the strong connection between Normandy and Canada.
