The Juno Beach Centre was honoured to welcome the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes & Drums of Alberta for a performance this afternoon. The band made a special stop at the Centre before they head to the Arras-region to perform at the commemorative ceremonies for the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge this week.
The RCMP Pipes & Drums of Alberta was formed in 1993 and is the first RCMP Pipeband. The membership of the Pipeband is made up of civilians from diverse backgrounds, retired military, serving and retired RCMP members (civilian and regular) and first responders. Members of the Pipeband dedicate volunteer hours serving Alberta communities. Their performances include parades, highland games, tattoos, charity events and official RCMP functions. With their RCMP scarlet tunic and tartan, their uniform is recognized world-wide and represents a national institution.
Thank you for your visit and all the best for the historic week to come!
