[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The Juno Beach Centre reopened yesterday and the first visitors of the year were Marine and Anthelme, who came from Toulouse to visit the Normandy D-Day Landing beaches. To make up for the wind and rain on Juno, they received a warm welcome from our new JBC guides, happy to meet with “real visitors” after five days of intensive training.
The new Canadian guides of the year arrived on January 27 and will stay with us until August 31. Ashley and Scott come from British Columbia, and Sophie comes from Québec. When asked what three words describe their state of mind on their arrival, they respectively answered:
Gratitude, Transmission and Welcome
The first people in the local community to meet with the guides and welcome them were the members of the Friends of the Juno Beach Centre French Association, who held their annual general meeting at the Juno Beach Centre.
We’re excited for a new year full of Franco-Canadian exchanges, shared moments and mutual discovery at the Juno Beach Centre.
