Recently, the Juno Beach Centre said goodbye to Marie-Eve Vaillancourt, History Department Manager since 2011, who is returning to Canada. Friends, co-workers and many others she has worked with over her time here came out to thank Marie-Eve for her 7 years of service to the museum.
During her time at the JBC, Marie-Eve developed education tools and programs for the museum, using her Canadian know-how. Among other projects, she aided in the development of the film “They Walk With You” and in many temporary exhibitions, including the most recent: “From Vimy to Juno”. She also developed interactive applications for the museum’s education programs, oversaw collections and was in charge of the recruitment, hiring, and training of our student guide team.
Marie-Eve has left a very strong impression on the culture, outlook, and operations of the museum. Her work greatly contributed to the reputation of the Juno Beach Centre as a leader in education and mediation on the Normandy landing beaches.
Thank you Marie-Eve, we look forward to working with you across the Atlantic in the future.
