D-Day veteran Alphonse Vautour shares his service with the North Shore Regiment during the Second World War. He recalls when he joined up in September 1939 and when he set sail for England in 1943. Alphonse drove a Bren Gun Carrier (a small armoured vehicle) onto Juno Beach on D-Day. He and the soldiers with him managed to subdue several German bunkers firing onto the beach. He anticipates visiting the cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer, where many of his comrades rest eternally and provides some cheeky advice for living a long life.
