Legacy of Honour Veterans Featured on Air Canada In-flight Entertainment

| November 1, 2020

For the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, the Juno Beach Centre compiled a collection of veteran interview videos known as the Legacy of Honour series. In each short video, a veteran shares their story of service. Soon, we will no longer be able to capture veterans’ voices and experiences and it is important to gather and share these testimonies while we still can.

Recently, Air Canada has agreed to display a selection of Legacy of Honour video episodes on their in-flight entertainment service for passengers to view. The selected episodes will be featured in time for Remembrance Day on Air Canada’s TV Documentary channel, from November 1st to December 31st 2020.

The episodes include:

1) Norm Kirby V-E Day 75

2) Jim Parks

3) Hugh Buckley

4) “Stocky” Edwards

5) George Chow

6) Jaye Edwards

We hope to share more videos with Air Canada’s passengers in the future!

The Juno Beach Centre Museum has been built to tell the story of the Canadians at war and to preserve their legacy for future generations. Each Legacy of Honour video has been created in direct pursuit of this mission.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has severely hampered our ability to fund this project and interview veterans.

To support this project, please select the Legacy of Honour fund on our donation page.

These videos continue to be available for viewing through our Legacy of Honour portal.
