The Juno Beach Centre Association will be hosting a Juno75 Gala Dinner on 5 June 2019 to honour the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. On 6 June 1944, 14,000 Canadians landed on Juno Beach to begin a long and costly campaign to end the Second World War. By the end of the day 359 Canadians had been killed, the first of over 5,500 Canadians to fall during the Normandy Campaign.
This Gala Dinner will honour the memory of their sacrifice as well as the courage of the 90,000 Canadians who served in Normandy during the summer of 1944. We will also recognize those who have supported and continue to support the Juno Beach Centre.
Highlights of the Gala include:
>The keynote speaker will be Gen Jonathan H. Vance, current Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff
>The Gala will be hosted by Col (ret’d) Kerry Vance and HCol Helen Vari
>The Master of Ceremony will be Gen (ret’d) Rick Hillier, former Canadian Chief of the Defence Staff.
We hope you can join us for this unique event marking one of the most significant days in the history of Canada and France.
