This afternoon the Westlake Brothers Souvenir Association held a special commemorative ceremony in the presence of Quincy Ross, granddaughter of Bill Ross, a veteran of the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, elected officials and a Canadian group from Laurier University.
After visiting Canada last summer, the young members of this French association sponsored bricks in the names of the veterans at Sunnybrook and Ste Anne veterans’ hospitals in Toronto and Quebec respectively, and conducted an inauguration ceremony here at the Juno Beach Centre.
Thank you for this initiative and for the beautiful ceremony. We will remember them.
