On Saturday November 8th, the Niagara Ice Dogs held their annual Remembrance Day game. This year the Juno Beach Centre was honoured to see the team adopt special commemorative D-Day jersey designed to pay tribute to Canada’s brave Second World War veterans. The jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Juno Beach Centre’s memorial and educational programming.
JBCA Director Sgt Darryl Casselman of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada took part in the ceremonial puck drop with Korean War veteran Colonel Frank Bayne.
Juno Beach Centre staff were also on-hand at the game to raffle off a special edition jersey. The winner was Crystal Fehlow of St. Catharines, Ontario. Congrats Crystal !
Thank you to all the players and the team’s management, and of course their mascot, Bones, for the support! The jerseys looked great!
