From August 8-15 2017, Courseulles-sur-Mer and others cities of the Côte de Nacre region will host the 12th annual Acadian Week festival.
Acadian Week is an opportunity to remember the Acadians who took part in the liberation of Juno Beach and to celebrate with traditional festivities.
A number of activities will take place at the Juno Beach Centre, a proud partner of the Acadian Week festival:
Friday, August 11th 2017 at the Juno Beach Centre
10 am: Ceremony in honor of Acadian soldiers (Garth Webb Esplanade)
3 to 5 pm: Floral decoration workshop with Laurence Letourneur Bures Flowers (Garth Webb Esplanade)
3:30 pm: Parade of American cars and motorcycles from the centre of town to the Juno Beach Centre.
4:30 pm: Musical entertainment for the kids with « Unisson » (Nova Scotia) (Museum multipurpose room)
5:30 pm: Conference with Deanna Boucly « A la recherche de mon père, soldat Acadien ». (Museum multipurpose room)
Monday, August 14th 2017 at the Juno Beach Centre
11am: Conference and book signing with Marie Cadieux, author of « Histoire de galet ».
2 pm: “L’acadienne”, a guided walking tour from Saint-Aubin-sur Mer to the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer – Start Square des des Canadiens / Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer.
4:30 pm: Concert with « 112 Accords » (Prince-Edouard-Island). (Garth Webb Esplanade)
