76th anniversary Victory in Europe Day

On May 8, which marks the 76th anniversary Victory in Europe Day, a wreath laying was held at the Juno Beach Centre in memory of all the victims of Second World War both civilians and soldiers, across Europe.

A wreath was also laid in memory of Garth Webb, the Canadian D-Day veteran who was at the origin of the JBC construction and who passed away on May 8, 2012.
Then, the Juno Beach Centre was represented at the ceremony of the town of Courseulles-sur-Mer upon invitation of the Mayor.

The wreaths of the Juno Beach Centre illustrated the museum’s commitment to eco-responsibility. A traditional wreath of flowers from a florist on Juno Beach, a wreath made from recycled materials, and a wreath made from locally produced flowers.
