The JBC Share a Veteran’s Story with his Descendants

Christine Bannon, daughter of Royal Canadian Air Force veteran (127th Fighter Wing) Joseph Bannon, and her daughter Samantha visited the Juno Beach Centre where his uniform is on display.

Joseph Bannon was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on February 4, 1919 and he passed away in Toronto, Canada in 2007. The following year, his family donated his Second World War uniform to the Juno Beach Centre.

During the Second World War, Corporal Joseph Bannon (Service # R115180) served in the Ground Crew of the RCAF. He participated in the battle of Normandy, as well as the liberation of Belgium and Holland.

Thank you to the Bannon family for your donation, which has enriched the collections and displays of the museum. We were so thrilled to welcome you!
