The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes & Drums of Alberta was formed in 1993 and is the first RCMP Pipeband. The membership of the Pipeband is made up of civilians from diverse backgrounds, retired military, serving and retired RCMP members (civilian and regular) and first responders. Members of the Pipeband dedicate volunteer hours serving Alberta communities. Their performances include parades, highland games, tattoos, charity events and official RCMP functions. With their RCMP scarlet tunic and tartan, their uniform is recognized world-wide and represents a national institution.
The Juno Beach Centre is honoured to host RCMP Pipes and Drums of Alberta as part of their pilgrimage tour on the battlefields of the First and Second World Wars.
