La visite fut très vivante grâce au dynamisme des animateurs et le commentaire bilingue (français/allemand) fut très apprécié de notre groupe franco-allemand. Le questionnaire est aussi un moyen très efficace pour orienter l’attention des élèves.

Une visite très intéressante avec des guides sympa qui ont réussi à intéresser les élèves. Les documentaires montrent une histoire très vivantes et émouvantes pour les jeunes allemands. La visite du musée vaut mieux que des cours d’histoire au collège. Merci de votre engagement pour l’histoire.

Visiting the Juno Beach Centre was very interesting because I found out what they had to wear and how much there stuff weighed that they had to carry around. It was interesting to find out how many people landed on the beaches. I thought the uniform was good so I could actually imagine what they wore. I thought all the weapons around were good because it shows me what the guns looked like. To visit Juno Beach meant I could actually see the beach that the Canadians landed on. Well done!

I think that this museum is one of the best I have ever been to. I found it interesting and this made it easier to learn all about D-Day and Canada’s importance. I think that was really interesting because I never realised how important Canada was in the Second World War. I think that the technology in the museum made it more interesting and fun to learn about this important part of history. The guides were great too! (Thank you Allison!)

It was incredible to visit Juno Beach because of the incredible historical significance it has to Canada. To actually walk on the beaches where the invasion took place was an amazing and unforgettable experience. It makes me proud to be a Canadian, and proud of the men and women who gave their lives to fight for freedom. Their fight must be remembered and here it is realized!

It was very moving to come to the Juno Beach Centre. My grandfather fought in the war, so everything I saw and learned impacted me a lot more. Seeing how people lived during the war time was eye opening because we do take so much for granted. The exhibits give a very good idea for what it was like in the war times. Thank you!

This was an awesome place for me to visit since I had several family members who fought in the war. Specifically my grandfather was in the RCAF. This place meant a lot to me because my great grandfather was on these beaches and just to know that he was there was incredible. I’m very proud of Canada’s contributions in the war and am greatful for the opportunity to have come here. I will always remember the beaches and the artefacts here. I hope more Canadians have an opportunity to visit the Juno Beach Centre like my friends and myself did.

I wish I’d had more time in the museum. The war seems so much more real now, it makes me want peace more. The history helped me understand what happened realistically unlike in the movies. It make me realize what horrors my grandfather went through when he stormed the beach up from Juno Beach.

Now that I know so much about what it was like, I feel that so many people died just to save their country.

The visit to Juno Beach cements the Canadian history in your mind. Before you actually see where the Canadian soldiers have been or see the artefacts that they had to work with, it’s difficult to imagine how harsh the life for the soldiers really was. It is a humbling experience to know that young men and women from generations past would make so many sacrifices, not only for their country, but for future generations. This sacrifice is lost if we do not bother to observe and remember them.

A trip to France is a very good experience, not only cultural, but for personal growth. Learning about French culture not only allows for tolerance of another way of life, but for appreciation of that culture and your own. It is an enriching experience to not only see how other people fulfill their basic needs, but to realize that we all have the same basic needs. Until one travels to France or anywhere internationally, you live in a shell, but after your travels you are able to see much more clearly how small you truly are. It’s amazing to see things that you’ve only seen in books before, and to realize their tangibility. This trip is almost surreal; hard to believe what you’re experiencing. Definitely worth leaving home for.

I have really enjoyed my time at the Juno Beach Centre. It has really given me new insight on what the history is of this amazing nation that we live in. This trip has taught me so much more than any textbook will ever teach me. Being here and seeing all this, these impressions will remain with me forever. I truly believe that every Canadian needs to see this, along with the other memorials, centres and cemeteries that commemorate Canadians in the World Wars. There has to be a different way to resolve conflicts.

Juno Beach is an amazing site that is extremely important to Canadians. Not only did this act of selfless courage help defeat Nazi Germany, it also aided in the establishment of Canada as a nation. While this event is so vitally important to Canadian history, many youth do not even know of its existence. It is for this reason that places like the Juno Beach Centre remain here as a constant reminder of the sacrifice made by previous generations and to prevent us from repeating the mistakes of those who came before.

I like how a lot of things at the museum are interactive. It’s much better than most museums because there are many movies playing and people talking about whatever exhibit you are looking at. I feel that this centre shows how much Canadians sacrificed for people they didn’t know, because of their hardships, we have freedom. Without thought for their safety, thousands of men fought to protect us. Another part is the wives of the men, they are left with very little to be thankful for, but they can find comfort in the memory of their husbands’ bravery.

I am in the Ontario Regiment and coming here to Normandy is amazing, having the chance to see and feel like no other museum. It’s a history book coming alive. Visiting the Juno Beach Centre and Normandy showed me that the WW2 is not just a story that somebody made up. Seeing the beach and reading the names of the soldiers that died here made me realize that the soldiers had family members that missed them. J’ai bien aimé tous le centre, le bâtement Allemange j’aime beaucoup de connaître qu’est que nous force était contre, mais on a seulment vu un parti j’aimeras bien de voir la reste. It was also really neat to see the plaque which was posted showing that our public school had raised money for this centre. C’était un très beau centre. Le film au début était bon, bonne idée. C’était une bonne idée d’avoir écrit ce qui se passait économiquement, socialement, et politiquement dans le temps. Ensuite pour faire différent de d’autres places, on a vu comment l’amée c’est organiser. Il y avait beaucoup d’écriture, et nous n’avons pas eu le temps de tout le lire. A mesure qu’on s’avançait, nous apprécions plus ce que les Canadiens ont fait durant la guerre. A la fin, lors des films, on se sentait vraiment chez nous et le Centre montrait bien que le Canada est un place moderne/ Bravo et continuez le bel effort !

Grade 10 History had a tremendous impact on us. We learned about all of the significant events that took place during the past century, D-Day being one of them. We read up on the website that there is currently nowhere else in the world that acknowledges the supreme efforts of the Canadians on this day, and we consider this a privilege to have experienced this part of our past that helped us to be where we are today. Listening to the letters written, and regarding the actual soldiers outfits really brought out the reality of the events that took place. We really appreciate this centre and encourage anyone who would like to further their knowledge about Canada’s participation in the war efforts to visit the Juno Beach Centre.

Very educational to learn about the Canadian role in the war seen in context with the other allied countries. Nice to have the prehistorie of the Canadian participation in the way. It is seen from an objective point of view. Good with the variation fo medias – identification. Better than the other war museums. Le musée est relativement petit donc il est court et explicite. Savoir ce que nos ancêtres ont fait pour le monde est tellement impressionnant. Une telle exposition nous fait aussi réaliser à quel point nous avons travaillé pour en arriver où nous sommes et nous aide à apprécier notre confort quotidien. Le Centre Juno et la Normandie méritent d’être visités pour la seule et unique raison que toute cette haine, cette violence (bien souvent gratuite) et ces morts doivent être enseignés. Votre musée est très intéressant. Le fait de montrer les objets trouvés et les costumes, c’est génial.

Voici un Centre très intéressant et surtout interactif ! Les explications sont simples et les images révèlent beaucoup d’informations. Pour des jeunes de 15-16 ans, je pense que le Centre est bien adapté. Ce que je trouve dommage, et ce n’est pas votre faute, c’est que les jeunes sont de moins en moins touchés par les évènements de la 2e Guerre mondiale que leurs parents l’ont été… Mais bon, je trouve que le Centre est une belle initiative des vétérans canadiens ! Et surtout d’y faire travailler des Canadiens ! Longue vie à votre Centre !
