The symbolism of the building and the nature of the [introductory] film force the students to reflect on the soldiers’ experiences. It helps them to feel first hand the nature of war. The museum also gave great context to where Canada was at the time of the war and what a major contribution 1 million volunteers represented out of a population of 11 million.

The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we were very impressed with her. The museum offers excellent information on the topic of war in interesting mediums (videos). C’est bon!

It was very interesting and educational. We learned a lot about Canadians’ contribution during WWII and specifically D-Day. We were pleasantly surprised to see a piece of Canada in a European country.
