Musée différent par sa modernité (tiroirs et films). La salle des films (salle D) avec les panneaux sur des sujets différents cela m’a agréablement marqué.
Oui, ce musée est différent des autres car il est plus vivant et intéressant. Très bien imaginé et très enrichissant.
Ce que j’ai le plus aimé, c’est les tiroirs et les couleurs. Il n’y avait pas trop de texte et beaucoup de lecture audio, c’était super. Le guide a très bien expliqué, il est très sympathique.

Très bon accueil. Musée très intéressant, extérieur très bien, nous avons appris beaucoup, encore plus que les années précédentes. La visite guidée de la plage me semblait plus détaillée.
Guides (Vanessa, Nitaï et Alexandre) très bien et bon contact. Le nouveau questionnaire et bien adapté aux élèves de 3e.
Une visite pédagogique très agréable et conviviale. Les + : Les guides, des informations des documents, des sources.

I think this museum was different from others because the guide (Nitai) who did the workshop “History on Wheels” explained so we could understand. It was really good seeing things the soldiers wore/took with them during the war. I liked seeing artifacts and not just hearing about them or looking at a photograph. You can see what the objects were actually like.

This museum was interactive and I really liked the movies. The translation was very good as well. During the guided beach tour I liked the bunkers the best. I hope that the tunnels get cleared for visits as this is fascinating. I would like to have seen more of the machinery used in D-Day and (as is appropriate) a graphic description of the war.

The fact that you fitted in the stops so people could go the graves of some family members was beyond what I would have ever expected and it was greatly appreciated. I know for me personally it was one of the very special points of the trip for me. I thank you very much for making that happen for me. I think it was special for the other people on the trip as well. It made the graves much more personal.
I will bring to my class emotion that I would never have experienced if I hadn't been to the places that we visited. As I walked on the beaches and thought of those poor guys trying to get off the beaches it made me cry.

Ce musée est différent des autres parce que c’est nous qui devons travailler, chercher l’information et pas seulement écouter une guide. Nous avons aimé entendre l’accent canadien. Nous avons apprécié de commencer par voir un film. Ce musée est moderne. Nous aimons beaucoup pouvoir toucher, aller chercher, regarder et écouter. On ne s’ennuie pas. On est libre d’aller où on veut, de voir ce qu’on veut. Les documents sont intéressants et ce n’est pas trop compliqué. L’animation « Un Canadien en Normandie » (soldat Mario) était super bien. On a aimé les vrais objets du Débarquement. Nous avons été surpris d’apprendre qu’une pioche pouvait sauver la vie d’un soldat. Nous avons aimé voir les uniformes. Grâce à « Mario », on comprend mieux comment s’est passé le Débarquement et on a compris qu’il ne faut pas faire la guerre. En un mot ; c’était génial. Merci pour l’accueil.

L’accueil était excellent. Le musée est tout à fait adapté au public scolaire. Il y a plusieurs niveaux de visite, ce qui est très bien. Le Pop Quizz permet aux enfants d’aller vers l’essentiel. La présentation des documents sous forme de tiroirs ou roulettes est assez ludique, permettant aux enfants les plus en difficultés de s’intéresser au musée.

Je trouve que le musée est différent des autres car nous sommes sur les lieux de la guerre et le musée a été créé par une association. J’ai beaucoup aimé d’apprendre comment les Allemands s’y sont pris pour attendre l’ennemi. J’ai été marqué par le nombre de Canadiens débarqués sur les plages ainsi que du nombre de morts. J’aurais pensé qu’il y avait plus de monde et plus de morts.
Visite très intéressante, en français, ce qui est très différent des autres musées (plages, diaporamas, explications sur les différentes étapes du Débarquement et l’opposition ennemie).

Ce musée est différent car on peut toucher et voir des artefacts. Les explications étaient claires et précise et nous participons avec les guides (Sylvie et Alexandre). Le film d’introduction est très bien réalisé et très intéressant malgré que l’on ne puisse pas s’assoir. Il est court alors qu’on s’attend à beaucoup plus long. Les cabines d’écoute dans le musée on un très mauvais son et on entend pas très bien.

La présentation pédagogique du « Meuble à Histoire » est captivante. Elle donne vie aux témoignages et à la vie quotidienne des soldats.

I liked the underground bunkers because they were fascinating. There were the original bullet holes. I enjoyed the description from the guide (Scott) about the defense systems on the beach. The museum was really fascinating because there were lots of ‘hands on’ things to do. The introduction film was informative.

I think the Centre is different than others museums because you can go into bunkers. The best thing here is probably all of it because it is so interesting and can find and do a lot at this wonderful museum. Also, the bunker is interesting because the guide (Matthew) described it really well. It was interesting how thick the walls are and how it can’t be destroyed by grenades or tanks.

L’architecture est bizarre. Le film d’introduction était bien fait, racontait bien les conditions de vie des soldats qui ont débarqué. Musée très instructif. Le Pop Quizz rend la visite interactive, on apprenait plus de choses en cherchant les réponses.

The best thing was it was very interactive with the uniform and tools during the “History on Wheels” presentation. There are lots of interesting facts. I thought that the bunkers were smaller. The idea of the sand was interesting. The bunkers looked very strong and protective.

Le Meuble à Histoire et la visite guidée de la plage incluant le blockhaus nous a beaucoup plus. Ce musée est différent des autres parce qu’on pouvait toucher les uniformes des soldats. C’était bien de pouvoir prendre des photos.

Le guide (Matthew) était très intéressant et s’est mis à la portée des jeunes en expliquant les choses de manière simple. Le « Meuble à Histoire » est une activité pédagogique très ludique. Les commentaires sous les photos sont courts et simples et donnent envie de lire. C’était très bon de pouvoir disposer de la salle polyvalente pour le pique-nique. Très bon accueil. Très bien aussi les commentaires bilingues.

The museum is different and special because it presents interesting information and objects in a fun way. We particularly enjoyed the videos and the artefacts belonging to people who lived at that time. In addition, the personal stories and experiences told made the visit more interesting. However, the introduction film was too short and didn’t give information clearly. Overall, it’s a great museum that we enjoyed.

Ce musée est différent des autres car on a appris de nouvelles choses sur l’histoire du Canada avec une dynamique différente et très intéressante. Visiter le bunker était intéressant puisqu’il s’agissait d’une première ! Il était intéressant d’en savoir davantage sur le Débarquement et sur les tactiques utilisées par les Allemands.
Le guide (Mikael) a su piquer la curiosité de nos élèves par son enthousiasme et ses connaissances variées. Musée riche et varié. Cette visite a permis de comprendre une parcelle de l’histoire tout en visualisant le site de ces événements. Merci très intéressant !

This museum is different because you could really see the efforts to link the memorial with today’s youth by giving not just the statistics of how many Canadians died but also sharing the more personal stories of the Canadian troops.

Most Canadians have a family member or friend who fought in WWII; for me it was my great uncle. While I studied their sacrifice in school, the true nature of their valour never materialized until now. It is truly amazing to be on the beach that only 68 years ago they stormed, against unbelievable resistance. Through the location, exhibits, and multi-media this museum brought this profound realization to life.

Supervising a group of younger students (12-13 years old), both they and I really enjoyed the visit! The museum is clearly laid out. Exhibits were exciting and just detailed enough. It made for a really refreshing change from the other stuffy, cramped museums.
The students seemed to especially enjoy the cultural readings – it made the whole thing come to life apparently. On the whole, a great museum!
I enjoyed listening to the videos as they were really interesting. I also liked the guided beach including a tour of the bunker as our tour guide (Matthew) told us about how the Germans used them. I would definitely recommend this museum as it was very welcoming ... unlike some other museums.

Guides (Mikael & Eric) were friendly and spoke at children’s level. During the educational presentation “Mario” engaged the children and was very informative. He helped the children to realize that war isn’t like in the computer games. Last year, children were able to handle some of the artefacts. The Juno Quiz kept the children engaged around the museum.

Our group really enjoyed the experience here. It was refreshing to explore a museum that used various types of media to depict stories from our countries’ past. The videos were very interesting; and the text was informative and straight-forward, which was nice because we did not find ourselves overwhelmed while exploring the exhibits. The museum was very impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed the way in which the history was displayed. It really helped each of us to appreciate our history more and truly reflect on the amazingly brave soldiers who fought for the freedom of others here on Juno Beach.

I did find this museum quite different from others. I really liked how our group was given an introduction from a tour guide (Mikael - whose humour was much appreciated), and the different forms of information throughout the museum. The mix of forms of information throughout the museum, the mix of video, oral and written helps people really understand what this experience would have been like. The artefacts and pictures also helped everything seem much more real. It was a joy and I learned a lot! Thanks for creating this site!

The beginning movie and setup was very different. It showed a lot about the general goings on of the war and the individual soldier; most museums focus on one of the others. My favourite part was the actual artefacts. (I like to see artefacts being preserved and cared for) I especially liked the barnacle covered helmet and gun.

This museum is very different because the tour started out with our guide telling us stories that he has heard from veterans of the war. The real connection to the events of D-Day made an impact on our group. The beach, the bunkers and tanks made the history much more real and interesting. Our guide (Matthew) was very knowledgeable and engaging as well.

So important to learn about and understand the big picture. I saw the different groups countries’ battalions etc. come together as the united forces and change the tide of war. Never forget the sacrifice of all involved: the soldiers, the civilians and the resistance on both sides.

I found this museum very interesting and I learnt loads of new facts. I liked going into the bunker during the guided beach tour because you got to have a feel of what it was really like to be fighting. I also liked the interactivity of the landing craft (museum’s introduction film).

I found this museum to be different from the others. I liked how the guide (Matthew) was Canadian and therefore we could understand and connect with him better. This museum was different because of all the artefacts from World War II and the information was really engaging rather than boring to listen to. We were intrigued by the great introduction movie because it really had a 360 degree view of what the soldiers went through. Amazing tour! A visit to a place such as Juno Beach and the surrounding region is immensely important to all Canadians, in particular students. After visiting Juno, students have a much richer understanding of what Remembrance means for them and the rest of the world. J’ai trouvé ce musée différent de tous les autres car je pouvais vraiment m’imaginer ce que les soldats ont vécu. Puisque nous avons visité la plage, j’ai mieux compris cet événement parce que j’ai visité le même lieu où les soldats canadiens ont débarqué lors du Jour-J. En plus, je crois que toutes les photos ainsi que tous les objets des anciens soldats entreposés dans le musée ont approfondi nos connaissances. Puisque ceci fut ma deuxième visite au Centre Juno, j’ai quand même ressenti la même énergie que lors de ma première visite. J’ai beaucoup aimé le fait que l’exposition soit temporaire, car nous pouvons visiter le musée plus d’une fois avec différentes expériences à chaque fois. Ce qui m’a le plus marqué était notre visite de la plage comme tel.

Nous avons trouvé ce musée différent, puisqu’il était plus interactif que la moyenne. Les manières variées dont les différentes sections du musée sont montées donnent à leur contenu une valeur ajoutée. La visite du bunker était intéressante. Certains auraient apprécié si quelques tétraèdres avaient pu être sur la plage pour donner une meilleure idée de l’état de la plage lors du débarquement.

This museum shed a different light from what we learn in schools. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. I liked the guide beach tour. I liked the bunker the most because seeing one in person is a lot better and more real than in a movie or documentary. This museum is different than others. It gives detailed and clear accounts of the military operations in WWII. It takes into account the details and explanations behind the various actions and battles that the Canadian divisions fought in, as well as the general background and lives/stories of our soldiers. It puts a welcomed emphasis on the men and women who fought during the Second World War; without being influenced by other topics. The explanations of the German defences and the beach with a guide add a level of realism that is often lost in other museums and on the people visiting.

The museum was different as it had different mediums to experience the history prior to and during the war. I feel that the experience was all the more palpable because we were able to see footage and hear the various speeches made by world leaders (Hitler, Chamberlain, etc). Being on the beaches of Normandy is indescribable.

Wow! Quel beau musée! Oui j’ai adoré la diversité des faits et objets trouvés, ainsi que la première salle qui permettait vraiment de comprendre l’histoire du Canada et de se remémorer la chronologie des événements. J’ai apprécié la variété d’expériences/preuves/faits auxquels nous avons assistés. Il y en avait pour tous : visuels, auditifs, kinesthésiques… Ce qui m’a le plus marqué, c’est la vidéo : « Chut, on vous écoute », documentaire de propagande dans la salle C-2. Il s’agit de quelque chose que je n’aurais sûrement jamais visionné ailleurs. Petit conseil : vous pourriez ajouter l’année dans le titre de l’article afin de mieux situer les visiteurs au premier coup d’œil dans le temps.

I found this museum did an exceptional job at giving a feel for what the soldiers actually experienced. Allowing the group to walk on the beach where numerous soldiers died was a great way to get a feel for what the soldiers had to do. Everyone coming here should walk on the beach. Once inside the museum though the content got much more personal with pictures, names, and letters. Where other museums just gave a number of soldiers on the field, this museum gave actual names and faces you could connect to.

We didn’t visit the museum however I found that the guide (Eric) was very well educated on the battles that went on Juno Beach. What I liked the best during the guided tour of Juno Park was going inside the bunker. It was a great experience and I could really get a feel of how the soldiers lived. It surprised me that the Germans were so well prepared. I also loved the beach. It’s so beautiful it’s hard to imagine what went on here not that long ago.

The museum has lots of good video which outlined what the writing was talking about so people who don’t like reading can still get everything out of it. La chronologie est parfaitement respectée / objets, films, scénographie (1ère pièce). Les guides (Mikael et Matthew) savent s’y prendre avec les élèves et la visite du Parc Juno (incluant le bunker) était un plus. Cependant, pourquoi ne voit-on pas un des bunkers en dehors de celui d’observation ?

Nous avons visités un bunker allemand et aussi voir la plage sur laquelle les soldats canadiens ont débarqué. Nous avons pu nous mettre dans la peau d’un soldat qui débarque le 6 juin 1944. Nous avons aussi visité le musée.

My impression of the Juno Beach Centre is very good. The passport system in the temporary exhibit is a great way to make the museum more fun and interesting to a younger audience. It is great that we can touch some of the artefacts. It gives us a better idea of what it would have been like.

My impression of the Juno Beach Centre is that it was very informative and is suitable for most age groups. The passport system in the temporary exhibit is a good idea because people can take away a piece of information about different soldiers involved in D-Day. It helps us learn even more about the soldiers that took part in the war.

My overall impression of the Juno Beach Centre was that it was quite interactive and gave the perspective of some individual soldiers. I found it very informative with its different visuals, tactile and audio aspects. It allowed me to see the museum as more than an average history museum.

I really enjoyed the exhibits, especially the videos and the interactive activities. The map of Canada at the beginning of the permanent exhibit was very nice however it was quite out of date. One of my favourite parts was the artefacts from the Essex Scottish Regiment, which is from my hometown of Windsor, Ontario. The whole museum was very interactive and intimate. I loved it.

Points Extra : Bon encadrement par les guides (Eric et Mikael). Bonne documentation dans le musée. Possibilité de prendre le repas sur place (dans la salle polyvalente) très appréciable.
