I think that this museum is very interesting, informative, interactive, and is one of the best I’ve seen to date! The ALLIES temporary exhibit was very well structured and the use of the passports and personal information of each soldier made it very enjoyable. In the permanent exhibit, the interactive quiz screens and audio / video themes were very clear and entertaining. Our tour guide (Kathleen) was excellent!

The museum is informative and interesting throughout. The use of interaction through screens and audio sections make for an entertaining visit. The ALLIES temporary exhibit was enjoyable, with the dioramas and gave us a good idea of life during the war. The passport system was innovative and lead to an engaging experience. It made you want to learn what happened next. Kudos for a very good museum!

The highlights of the museum: It was very interesting to see the pre-war context, which enabled students to better understand the contributions made by the Canadians. The highlights of Juno Park (guided visit): The bunker was really interesting and engaged the students. The highlights of the temporary exhibit: The passports really enabled the students to empathize with the soldiers / airmen / women.

The opportunity to come and visit the Centre was an extremely moving experience. The exhibit was very informative and contained many fantastic artefacts which, in my opinion, everyone should go visit (great for those who don’t have much knowledge on our history). I found the beach to be especially emotional as there are no words to describe the impact it had on me. I truly appreciate all that has been done to preserve the stories of our history and will cherish the memories of my visit for a lifetime.

The experience was incredibly moving and emotional. It was incredible to be standing in the exact spot where men gave their lives so that we can have freedom. The exhibit itself was educational and enjoyable to tour. Our visit to the Juno Beach Centre truly had a huge impact on me and I know I will remember it for the rest of my life. My visit was phenomenal.

The highlights of the museum: The kiosks. Gunner observation / bunker. The beauty of the building and beach. Flags and memorial statue. The highlights of Juno Park (guided visit): Our guide (Kathleen) was very good! The content and clarity of her delivery was awesome! The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Good displays and interactive. Very good entry and introduction film. To be improved in the temporary exhibit: Trying maybe to be too many things for everyone (make it more focused).

My general knowledge on this subject was greatly increased through my visit to this museum; all the while, the museum was both interactive and enjoyable. It was special to be here on 11/11/11 and to truly understand the full atmosphere and experience of the war. I am proud to be Canadian and even more proud of those who allowed me these freedoms through their sacrifices. Thank you, soldiers!

I found this museum to be very interesting and offered a lot of info I may not have received in school. As well, I think other students enjoyed it because we are Canadian and many had relatives on Juno Beach or in the war in general. I found the passport system in the Allies temporary exhibit to be something I had not really heard of and really enjoyed all the artefacts and information.

The highlights of the museum: Entrance movie and exhibit features. To be improved in the museum: Modern kids’ faces superimposed on military photos are distracting – what is the point – showing kids playing “dress-up” does not promote empathy for soldiers, rather it trivializes the experience. Big thumbs down.

The temporary exhibit was extremely elaborate and interesting. The permanent exhibits had well-restored artefacts that were relevant to the write-ups. Many of the exhibits were touching and relatable and were made even better with the letters and videos. It was all very moving. The restoration of Juno Park was very interesting and the guided tour (with our guide Kathleen) was very enjoyable.

The exhibit was very interesting and the introduction video gave us a good perspective of what Canadians went through during the Second World War. The information was really clear and it was really easy to understand. Now I know more about how Canada was affected by this war.

From this visit I have learnt a lot. I study history at school and I love to learn about all the different wars that have gone on in the years. I have learnt many new things that I will take back with me to England. The museum is very specific and interesting; it is also very emotional to see what has actually happened. Thank you!

I thought the temporary exhibit entitled “Allies” was very good and thoroughly enjoyed going around with the passport system. It was great to discover someone’s life and how it evolved during the war. During the guided beach tour, the bunker was very interesting as we went into the different sections. It was amazing to see how the German soldiers worked in and on top of the defensive building. It was also very good seeing how far the beach stretched and how much land the Canadians took at Juno. This was a very thrilling experience for me and I really enjoyed it.

I think that the Juno Beach Centre is a very good idea because you get a very good view of the life of the soldiers. During the guided beach tour, I really enjoyed the German bunker and I found it very interesting and exciting. It has been a memorable experience.

— September 16, 2011

I think the temporary exhibit’s passport system is a very clever idea – it enables us to look more closely at the life of an individual soldier. It makes it real, biographical, and tells me about life at war. During the guided beach tour, I really liked seeing the German bunker and going on the beach. Overall, a really clever, fun, and interesting museum!

Really touched by the relationship between Canada and the U.K. The German bunker was fascinating. I learnt a lot there. I also discovered a lot about Canada (I have an uncle who lives in Manitoba). Overall, I think the museum is great! Thank you!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Juno Beach Centre. The permanent exhibit really covered the Canadians’ role in the war and particularly helped me understand the role of Canadians on D-Day. The temporary exhibit was also good to introduce us to the rest of the museum as well as help focus our attention on the wars’ human element.

— August 17, 2011

Antoine B. (student)
Fondation Vimy Foundation (Canada)

— August 17, 2011

I really enjoyed the fact that a few feet from the museum’s entrance the Canadians ran up the beach. The layout of the museum was also really well done. Going through the temporary exhibit and the short film before entering the permanent exhibit helped to absorb you in the museum. I also really enjoyed the passport system in the temporary exhibit, it was a way of humanizing the war.

The highlights of the museum: Excellent details. The highlights of Juno Park (guided or self-guided visit): Bunker, beach, guide (Carolyne). The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Good intro. — August 04, 2011

The highlights of the museum: The introduction film was an exciting and the landing craft shaped theatre assisted in giving patrons the feeling that they were part of the landings on June 6. The "Canada in the 30's" room is designed in such a way that both Canadians and non-Canadians can get a good sense of what led to Canada's involvement in the war, and about the nature of the country itself at that time. The map on the floor is great. In terms of animations, I think that the educational activity with Jeanne, the D-Day nurse or Mario, the D-Day soldier would captivate younger students. The highlights of Juno Park (guided visit): The bunker was a highlight, as well as the enthusiasm and evident knowledge displayed by our guide (Taylor). It is sometimes hard to give a tour to history teachers but he did a great job! The highlights of the temporary exhibit: The passport idea made it more organized and meaningful. To be improved in the museum: Perhaps I was not there long enough to figure it out, but a simpler/more obvious way to locate bricks on the kiosks out front would be good. In addition, I felt as though the Aboriginal contributions were not featured in a cohesive way inside the museum. To be improved in Juno Park (guided visit): For a self-guided visit, perhaps more permanent signs/plaques that tell key pieces of the story would be helpful.

The highlights of the museum: Very interesting to see uniforms and equipment. (Educational presentation “History on Wheels”). The highlights of Juno Park (guided visit): Observation bunker, information on beach. The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Very interesting to see uniforms and equipment. This was an absolutely amazing experience. Having no previous knowledge, I was entirely immersed. Our guide (Benjamin) was amazing. The highlights of the museum: Interactive features. Radio speeches of Hitler and Chamberlain. TV screens on floor showing Canada. Canadian experience, personal belongings of troops etc. The highlights of Juno Park (guided visit): Very good guide (Benjamin). Interesting talk/description. Interesting to go into bunker. The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Regrets, never quite got there. To be improved in the museum: Screens for big movies – broken up by doorway etc. A screen to descend or ascend would work better.

I enjoyed the museum though I found the temporary exhibit a little bit confusing as to what we were supposed to do. The permanent exhibit was well laid out and informative. I liked how it covered different countries and time frames. I would recommend coming to the Juno Beach Centre to everyone.

I thought that the museum was really good. I liked the cinema (introduction film) idea. Having a film projected on 300° makes you feel like you’re actually on the battlefield. I also thought the passports in the temporary exhibit were a good idea as you can follow your own veteran. Overall it is a really good setup and I am happy it’s funded by veterans.

I found that overall the exhibits were interesting and offered a different perspective to World War II. Our group enjoyed listening to the poems near the end of the museum and the personal perspectives in the temporary exhibit. I think the cinema (introduction film) could be more factual and war related.

The Juno Beach Centre was intriguing and was very interesting. It was great to learn about the Second World War and was a good experience, especially the introduction film. The passport system in the temporary exhibit was fun because we learned about individuals.

I think that this museum has shown an excellent understanding of what Canada felt was happening in the war and what they think now. I particularly enjoyed watching the movies and thought they were of great quality. The exhibits and examples of people’s lives used help us understand this on a much more human and personal level. There was lots of information which helped to understand what happened at the time and it was very informative. It has been a great experience.

My overall opinion of Juno Beach was outstanding. The bunker was kept in great condition. The visit was extremely informative and gave a really great picture of what happened on D-Day. The temporary exhibit made us understand a lot on a more personal scale. The passports system let us get in the feet of a soldier. Overall, the Juno Beach Centre is outstanding.

A very interesting centre in my opinion. I particularly enjoyed the interactive exhibits: there were lots of things to watch, to listen and get involved with. I also thought that the leaflet was an excellent idea: getting children to learn about the war with a game. If I had to change one thing, it would probably be the room C because not many people could understand the radios, however, that must have been how it was during the war. Altogether, it was a very enjoyable thing to do.

I learned new facts from the nurse (Educational presentation “Jeanne, the Canadian D-Day Nurse”). The landing crafts were scary but it was nice. We found the book too hard. The highlights of the museum: We enjoyed the short introductory film. The group work (student workbook) kept them focused. To be improved in the museum: Pencils could be handed out to complete booklets (student workbook). This would be helpful. Questions on the booklets are not particularly pitched at this age group and were a bit tricky. Rooms in the museum could be labelled.

It was interesting when the guide (Emily) got into the role of a nurse (Educational presentation “Jeanne, the Canadian D-Day Nurse”).

The Centre is very well organized. The artefacts are very interesting. I enjoyed the way of presentation surrounding the information and liked how it was not heavily focused on the D-Day landings, as important as they are.

I thought that this trip was excellent. It was very fascinating to go into the bunker during the beach tour. How our guide (Taylor) explained how they all worked and the way they worked was really clever. Showing all of the objects that the Canadians carried and what they wore was interesting too (History on Wheels presentation).

The highlights of the museum: Audio-visual exhibits, having explanatory signs at eye-level for children. The highlights of Juno Park (guided or visit): Going inside the bunker. The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Seeing actual soldier’s belongings. To be improved in the temporary exhibit: More time to look around and handle objects. Explaining technical terms for children (fortifications, etc.).

Today has been very fun and I enjoyed coming to the Juno Beach Centre. I’d say the best part was during the beach tour when we went inside the bunker and found out about how the Germans took over some of the French people and made them work for them. My favourite bit were the tetrahedral which were very clever designs. I had a great day out.

Today has been really exciting. Mario the D-Day soldier (educational presentation) was amazing. During the beach tour it was fun to look inside the bunker (it was surprisingly small). When we went down to Juno Beach and learned how far they had to go, it was pretty amazing. Inside there were many exhibits which were very interesting. There was lots of stuff you could do and explore. I had a grand day out.

Juno Beach puts everything into perspective. It makes everyday problems seem like nothing. It feels like the physical land of the beach is scarred because of the things that happened here. There is an eerie tranquillity. I think this museum captures the sacrifice and pride that happened here on the beaches.

It’s pretty cool. The introduction movie in the recreation of a landing craft was very awesome. Great details! The passport system in the temporary exhibit is a good thing in my books.

I thought that the Juno Beach Centre was extremely interesting. This visit made me realise how hard taking over this beach must have been for the Allies. Seeing this beach was like adding a picture to the stories that I had heard about Juno Beach and D-Day. As for the exhibits, I also thought that they were interesting and even though I thought I knew quite a bit about this place, I learned a lot more.

The Juno Beach Centre is a wonderful place for young Canadian students to go to get a hands-on perspective on what is learned in school. This museum is very informational and gives an entirely different perspective with its life-like displays. The passport system in the temporary exhibit helps relate to the exhibit by adding a personal touch! As you read the facts in the display, it becomes more personal when you read the stories in the passports. In conclusion, a great exhibit!

I loved the introduction movie. It was really cool to be able to see it from the perspective of a landing craft. I also really liked the temporary exhibit. I found it very interesting to read individual stories (passport system) and learn about their lives throughout the visit of the exhibit. Overall, I really enjoyed Juno Beach. It felt as if I was at home.

The highlights of the museum: Artefacts – Good collection. The highlights of Juno Park (guided): The beach! To be improved in the museum: Not a big fan of the kid’s faces (Peter & Madeleine) throughout the exhibit. To be improved in Juno Park (guided): The entrance to the bunker.

The exhibit was very informative and the detailed pieces make for an interesting way to learn about Canada’s role in WWII. The mixture of auditory, visual and kinaesthetic learning techniques allows everyone to participate and gain knowledge of Canadian history. The extensive amount of information requires a large period of time to view everything. The passport system in the temporary exhibit is a very unique and ingenious way to learn about the soldiers who fought and died.

The overall museum itself is beautiful. Pride and glory come out at me as I walk through the museum (permanent/temporary exhibits). It makes me feel Canadian. The temporary exhibit is very beautiful and makes anyone proud of Canada. There is a lot to do and a lot of hands on stuff. I would like to stay here for a couple days ... to read and experience every last thing.

The highlights of the museum: Original artefacts & lots of information. The highlights of Juno Park (guided or self-guided visit): All good! The highlights of the temporary exhibit: Good again.

Talk was very good (D-Day Nurse educational presentation). Handling objects & visual aids. Video to show war footage. To be improved in the museum: More than just a nurse’s point of view. For example a soldier’s. More interactive activities for the children.

I really enjoyed the exhibit and all the information it provided. All of the artefacts and displays were very interesting and clearly explained the background of the war. I would simply have liked more details of the events leading up to D-Day on the guided tour (It would have been good to hear about the monuments and also the events that revolved around them). The entire experience was really quite interesting and worthwhile! Thank you!

I believe this place was wonderful. It was full of easy to understand information and the choice of English or French. The exhibit made me very proud to be a Canadian and also really made me realize how much of a struggle our Canadian soldiers went through to be able to help the Allies. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about my country’s past in such an in depth look into their past.

The visit was interesting: to see the lives of the soldiers and all they had to go through. The letters home telling of their experiences were also very nice. It let me see the horror and destruction of the war through a more direct way. Hitler’s speech was also quite interesting even though I didn’t understand a word of it.

Passports in the temporary exhibit - It was a good system following a particular person. The passport made it easier to see what an average person in the war went through. It allowed for us to follow a person’s experiences before, during and after the war. The artefacts added gave you an idea of what it looked or sounded like. Merci.

I love the exhibit, it makes me so proud to be Canadian, and it inspires me to learn more about the history of my country. I love that there is an exhibit here to honour Canadian men and women. Awesome! We actually learned a lot! The introduction movie gives a really realistic view of what the soldiers went through, which was interesting. The passports in the temporary exhibit were neat because it gave you an insight on a certain person rather than trying to learn the general story of everyone.

You can’t gain this type of experience from any book. A must visit for every Canadian. The passport system in the temporary exhibit “ Allies – Canadians & British during the Second World War” is a strategic way to frame experience. A lot of materials for a privately funded Centre (awesome). Spacious for large groups.

The museum is incredible. I really enjoyed how much emphasis it put on contributions Canadians made outside of D-Day, and all the work that went into the ‘before’ and the ‘after’ of Operation Overlord. Copious amounts of data, a really well put together exhibit, very impressed.

Our guide (Emily) was well informed and friendly – much better than the guides at Vimy. The exhibits were comprehensive although more artefacts outside would be better. We did not spend enough time here, but as the students said “it brought their story alive.”

I thought it was very moving. I’m not sure what the relevance of the random the kids faces (Peter & Madeleine) was in the permanent exhibit.

Sydney D. (student)
South Delta Secondary School (BC, Canada)

— March 27, 2011

Passport system in the temporary exhibit seemed redundant for us. It seemed unnecessary. The replacing of several photos with faces of kids (Peter & Madeleine) in the permanent exhibit was rather obnoxious and took away from the value of them. However, the exhibits themselves hold up with everything we’ve learned so far, and were very informative.

Well done! Well planned museum! Great use of media, primary sources are amazing. Very relevant as this is truly grade 11 (15-16 years old) curriculum and a reinforcement to the units done in class. Thank you … even better than expected.

I think the museum is very interesting and tells boys our age about World War II. The museum has laid everything out well and I really like the videos. I think the period objects are really awesome and I’m sure everyone really liked it. The information is really interesting and I’ve learned a lot.

I think the museum is very interesting and I learned a lot about the Canadian effort in World War Two. It was well presented and there were some very interesting interactive exhibits. I enjoyed the museum completely. I learned a lot of information about the Canadians in the war from the touch-screen computers all the written information. It has also got other sources of information such as posters and even people who took part in the war.

Excellent workshop / educational presentation (Jeanne, D-Day Nurse) – boys really enjoyed listening, answering questions, looking at artefacts, trying on uniforms, etc. Very informative. Permanent exhibit – very interesting and informative for adults and children alike.

— March 23, 2011

The introduction video made a good deep-first impact. At the end of the movie the doors to the museum should open at the same time as the doors of the landing craft in the movie. The wait was a little anti-climatic. The faces of the kids (Peter & Madeleine) on all the pictures of the soldiers wrecks the mood and seems out of place, not to mention that it is, in my view, disrespectful to the purpose of remembrance. The passport system in the temporary exhibit was really interesting but we did not spend enough time in there to complete our visit.

I really enjoyed the Juno Beach Centre. The guided tour of the beach area was very interesting and memorable. The exhibit was very informative and interactive. This is my third visit to this museum with students from Carihi. It is one of the most important parts of our Canadian Battlefields Tour. I have always been impressed, also, with the temporary exhibits. It very nicely complements the rest of the museum. The structure, its story and its presentation goes a long way towards filling in the small stories that make the rest of the big story of the war understandable.

I quite liked the passport system in the temporary exhibit because it gives a more personal feel towards the soldiers. The age being so young and the photo being a “happy” one makes a strong effect. I enjoyed the war propaganda posters. I found this visit very informative and I enjoyed the guide (Emily) who was also from Vancouver. I think there should be bottles that we could buy to take home some sand.

My impression of my visit to the Juno Beach Centre was a good one; I learned much more than I previously knew. The temporary exhibit was particularly excellent, as it was really interesting to see real letters and equipment from World War II. I especially enjoyed reading the letters and messages. I found the passport system useful as you could relate to the person in it in some ways. Everything you saw in the exhibit, you could see through their eyes. Overall, I really enjoyed it and found it very interesting.

— March 23, 2011

I really enjoyed my visit to the Juno Beach Centre because of the really interesting exhibitions and guided beach tour. We were shown a German bunker and a soldier’s actual uniform. In the permanent exhibit, there are short films that show how the Canadians helped the Allies win the war. Out of all the museums I have been to, I enjoyed Juno Beach Centre the most.

An excellent exhibit, with the variety of the outside tour, the “hands on” tour and the permanent exhibit. Girls interested throughout, so you obviously captivated their interest and imagination. Two truly wonderful guides (Emily & André), for whom the history and the continuation of that history are very important which enabled them to communicate so successfully with our girls (aged 12-13). The passport system in the temporary exhibit is an absolutely brilliant idea! Make this permanent.

A fabulous experience throughout. With a female only school group aged between 13 and 14 years old, I was concerned about the level, but it was just right. Sufficient time given to informative descriptions by both guides (André & Emily). The temporary exhibit and its passports are a very good idea. I like the idea of following a person’s story. I also like being able to take the passports with us to look through and compare later. The permanent exhibit is fantastic and I wish we had more time to do it justice. Living across the Channel, we are fortunate to be able to return and, as trip leader, for many visits. I am looking forward to reading more next time. Is there a book? I haven’t visited the gift shop yet!

I believe that the artefacts stored and preserved here allow visitors to step into the shoes of these soldiers and what they may have experienced. The thoughtful letters on display warm everyone’s hearts and the tools shown clarify the broad picture of the 1940’s. With motion picture and still photography, the museum dances with rich history as we all remember what these brave Canadians sacrificed, lost, and won. Overall the museum is wonderful, and very Canadian. Thank you.

The Centre really brings to life what we attempt to teach in classrooms. It is evident by the rapt interest of the students in each part of the exhibits that they are extremely interesting and authentic representations of important parts of our history. This is a highlight of our trip to England and France. The two young kids (Peter & Madeleine) who act as “guides” on the info plaques and in the films in the museum take away from the importance of the events. In the video (who, when and why), their animation of moving arms seems very juvenile and inappropriate. They do not add to the interest or realness of these events. It is unclear as to what age group they are supposed to target as our group has an 8 year old, 16-18 year old students and adults and we, collectively, believe that they did not add to the exhibit. Aside from their images, the museum is excellent.

Today, when I visited Juno Beach along with the Centre, I was able to understand completely and appreciate fully our ancestor’s choices. When I went through the temporary exhibit, I was impressed by the intense feelings around me. The passport idea was very clever and made me feel more involved to the story. Overall, the whole experience was enlightening and inspiring. I am extremely happy that I was able to visit the Centre.

The temporary exhibit about Canadians & British during the war added a human approach to the faces of war. It helps emphasize on how much the war affected the everyday lives of Canadians. Putting faces on history helps create a Canadian identity and shows how large our contribution to the war was.

The beach tour was excellent and well described. Unfortunately, there were two areas under renovation. The statue looked great from a distance. The temporary exhibit about Canadians & British during the Second World War was great. The “Identification Cards/Passports” system certainly personalizes the lives of participants of the war. As a Canadian, I am filled with pride! The stories of British/Canadians cooperation were wonderful. The Centre as a whole brings out a complete story of the war and our contributions. Great learning experience and one that brings Canadians together.

I learned about the war in school last year, about the beach and the Impacts of the war. Our teacher told us about how hard it was for the soldiers as well as the people back home. I heard the words and listened to what he said, but I never really felt it. Coming here and standing on Juno Beach, I can actually understand a little bit about what it was like. This sight is helpful to show and tell us about the war. Very informative.

I thought the visit was very well constructed, starting outside by the bunker and having a basis before going to the museum. I found the introduction video very neat as it gave a good impression of the beach and war experience. The use of technology really emphasized the war and enhanced the visit. I also liked the hands on aspect of the visit, and the connections with the bios of the Victoria Cross recipients were very interesting and brought their stories to a new level of importance for me.

Our visit here was excellent! We enjoyed the brief guided tour (with Emily) – it was REALLY cold but our discomfort was minor compared to what our soldiers must have experienced. We enjoyed the introduction movie and it was fun to see the interest students took in the various parts of the exhibit. I believe that it is an overall excellent exhibit. It shows the war from multiple perspectives, which helps you to see the battle/campaigned from the other angles besides the ones from Canadian perspective. This is an amazing site. All students learn about WWII and “D-Day” in grade 10 (14-15 years old), but I have seen no other place bring it to life for them the way this one does. The incorporation of civilian artefacts helps them see what they would have been doing. Bravo, thank you!

How is it possible to experience so much emotional response to something that happened more than 60 years ago? Perhaps it is the human condition to understand the sacrifice that was made by so few for so many. Thank you for providing such an important reminder to our students who would not be able to grasp the enormity of such an occasion in the history of mankind? Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to share in the lives of those young Canadian martyrs.

I greatly enjoyed my visit to this wonderful Centre. I think the exhibit is well organized and not too overwhelming (visually, ie: overload of information). The collection of things found on the beach is a brilliant idea and so are the videos from soldiers at individual battles. I enjoyed how you made sure to include the information of what happened after they landed, a lot of people seem to forget that the battle did not end on the beach. When seeing all of the names scrolling down the screen near the end of the museum, it is sad to realize how many died and how long it would take to see everyone’s names. I had a very good impression of this exhibit. It explains things very well, and gives us glimpse of what it was really like. The passport system in the temporary exhibit is good as it connects us to a soldier and helps us realize what they went through. Really good museum. Thank you for dedicating this place to Canadians.

In the “Allies” temporary exhibit I didn’t understand the passport system because the guide didn’t say why we needed them. All I did with it was read it and then put it in my pocket. But the exhibit was well done. The rest of the museum was good. I couldn’t read everything because of lack of time but overall it was pretty well planned out. I liked the short TV clips throughout the exhibit.

The Juno Beach Centre is a must see for all young Canadians (and older Canadians too). The temporary exhibit entitled “Allies” was very interesting and the passports were interesting – the students enjoyed comparing the lives and were looking for people with local connections (ie: Guelph is about one hour from our home). Thank you!

Overall very good/cool. Liked the interactive exhibit. Passport system in the temporary exhibit is confusing/unexplained. Liked the artefacts. Boat simulation/introduction film room is excellent.

The Juno Beach Centre has been a magnificent experience. You get to experience both the beach itself and its history at the same time. In particular; the room where the projected video is and the outside part made you feel like you were living a fraction of what they lived. I also was really appreciative of the passport idea in the temporary exhibit. You get to research and explore someone who helped and fought during that time and it really makes you appreciate what you have. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope to revisit again in the years to come.

The temporary exhibit was of limited interest to students, 10 minutes was plenty. Permanent exhibit was very informative. Film was interesting but not memorable. Overall, exhibit should focus on Juno, it is too sprawling and unfocussed.

I enjoyed the passport in the temporary exhibit as it made me feel like I personally knew her. The panels had lots of detail and it was written very well. I wish there were more exhibits, such as being in a trench or fighter jet. The introduction movie was very well done; it showed how fast everything went. André did a very good job as a guide, and I enjoyed the beach tour greatly.

I really enjoyed receiving the passport in the temporary exhibit. It was a unique way of learning about the life of a soldier. The introduction movie was alright, but a little unclear due to the fact that it was in French and in English at the same time. I wish there would have been seating. André, our tour guide, was very nice and kind. The exhibit was very organized and well presented. The pictures and the explanations were very clear. I enjoyed my visit.

I found that the AUTHENTIC letters are really important to make people FEEL how it was.

The exterior of the building seemed out of place but it establishes that it is Canadian with its architecture. The introduction video sets a sort of dramatic and sad mood. The contrast between the dark video and bright interior is very interesting.

The passport system in the temporary exhibit was a great way to get us to become more interactive with the displays and information. In the museum, the displays were wonderfully interactive, allowing me to learn an entire story of Canada’s role and influence in the war in a short and convenient amount of time.

The museum is very interesting and would help people who have come not knowing too much. It has excellent use of memorabilia and I have never been to a war museum which included information on the aboriginals, which I found exciting to learn about. Walking around the museum and seeing the uniforms makes us realise what we would look and feel like to be in that situation, with this equipment. The videos are eye catching, but in some sense confusing and could have been organised better, for people to get a clearer understanding of the war.

It shows how the British and Canadian Army worked together, shows how the Canadian army kit is similar not only to the British Second World War kit, but to today's British kit (obviously there have been upgrades). There were five billion rounds made for the Canadian army and it was interesting to look at the kit and imagine how hard it must have been.

An innovative and creative mark of the efforts during this pivotal period in history. The acknowledgment of the realities and humanity behind the fighting really well displayed. We have already spent a day on a battlefield tour of Normandy and have thus acquired knowledge of the D-Day battles and an appreciation of the size. However, being British, we have naturally adopted a largely British focus. The Juno Beach Centre has provided a wonderful insight into our Canadian allies, their history, and our relationship during the wars. This museum has accurately demonstrated the political, military and social relationships between the UK and Canada. A valuable education tool- thank you!
