It meant a great deal to me to have the opportunity to visit this center. Given our time constraints, I was unable to do everything, but I found the displays to be very informative and interactive. The beach and the cemetery itself I found to be strongest message. Seeing names of young men my age on the plaques gave me a sense of pride, a pride to be Canadian. These people selflessly gave their lives to spark a flame of hope for a world of peace. The greatest gift a person can give is their life, and so many gifts were given. Indeed we remember the lives lost, but also the lives bettered by these amazing individuals.
